McCreary Centre Society (McCreary) is seeking a community-oriented individual with strong quantitative data analysis skills to coordinate the BC Adolescent Health Survey and support with other survey research.  

The successful candidate will be organized, personable, a team player, and able to connect with diverse youth and adult stakeholders. They will also be comfortable using SPSS statistical software and translating statistical findings into community friendly reports.

Key responsibilities

 

  1. Facilitate youth and adult stakeholder consultations and pilot studies to guide any adaptations to the BC AHS survey instrument.
  2. Coordinate School District and nurse administrator participation in the BC AHS.
  3. Train and support BC AHS survey administrators.
  4. Promptly and professionally address any concerns raised by students, parents, school personnel and nurse administrators.
  5. Supervise the online and in-person distribution, administration and collection of the BC AHS survey and related materials.
  6. Track BC AHS survey response rates and support administrators to achieve sufficient sample in participating districts.
  7. Create a final BC AHS database for each survey cycle, under the guidance of McCreary’s Senior Research Associate.
  8. Analyze BC AHS and other quantitative survey data using SPSS for Windows.
  9. Prepare research reports, presentations, fact sheets, and other dissemination materials.
Qualifications (education, experience, skills)
  1. Minimum of two years’ experience working with SPSS for Windows.
  2. Graduate level knowledge of quantitative research methods.
  3. Experience working as a Research Assistant or on a large funded research project.
  4. Able to lead multi-disciplinary teams through a complex project

This is not a remote position and will be based at McCreary’s office at 3552 East Hastings Street, Vancouver. Hybrid working may be possible at times.
