Caring for Communities conference

The Caring for Communities conference will recognize and celebrate the commitment of frontline workers in the community social services sector. Sessions will provide tools and strategies to help workers self-advocate, share ideas, access support, and honour their cultural identities, while exploring practical approaches to strengthening workplace well-being, sharing knowledge and promising practices, and nurturing cultures of collective care and support.
Caring for Communities 2026 is a partnership between The Community Social Services Health & Safety Association (CSSHSA) and The Federation.
Registration will open in June.

Human Trafficking 101 for frontline workers

Neeru Muker, Children of the Street
This two-hour course is designed for social service professionals and offers a comprehensive understanding of human trafficking. Participants will learn how trafficking works, how to recognize the signs, relevant laws, and ways to support youth affected by trafficking or sexual exploitation. Training is delivered by a CARF-accredited program and follows a trauma-informed, client-centred approach. Upon successfully passing a competency-based test, participants will receive a certificate of completion.
Register now for virtual training on June 19, 2026, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Cost: $60 per participant.
