RCY invites leaders to share perspectives on staffed residential care
The Representative for Children and Youth (RCY) is continuing its review of staffed residential resources and is inviting sector leaders to share their perspectives through a confidential online survey.
Following recent engagement sessions with sector participants, RCY is moving into the next phase of its work, focused on understanding how staffed residential services are led, operated and supported across the system. Input from owners, executive directors and managers is a key part of this phase.
The survey is intended to capture leadership, operational and system-level experiences that shape how staffed residential services are delivered. Feedback will help RCY assess how the current system is functioning and identify opportunities to strengthen care for children and youth.
A separate survey for direct service providers has already been circulated. Organizations that wish to ensure their frontline staff have an opportunity to participate are encouraged to share the link directly with them.
- Direct service provider survey: Survey for staff providing direct services to children and youth — fill out form
- Leadership survey: Survey for owners, executive directors and managers of staffed residential resources — fill out form
The survey takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete. All responses will remain confidential and will be used solely to inform the next phase of RCY’s review.
Both surveys are open until Jan. 19.
RCY emphasizes that participation from across the sector is essential to building a clearer picture of how staffed residential care is working and how it can be improved to better support children, youth and the people who care for them.
