CHOICE ONE Title: Support to Practice Management Overview: Conducting in Context with Chris & Gord Description: Join Chris Burt and Gord Cote for a sampler of Support to Practice Management, a course developed specifically for Human Service Organizations operating in British Columbia. Background: Building on the learning and feedback through delivering Support to Practice Supervision (S2PS) to over 16 cohorts, the Federation, through facilitators Chris Burt and Gord Cote, is now piloting the next iteration of management practice workshops. Whereas S2PS was a primer for supervisors to offer case-specific supervision, Support to Practice Management (S2PM) is for new or mid-level managers. The selected content is designed to provide participants with a roadmap for navigating the complexities of organizations while building practical skills for enhancing the capacity of their organizations’ workforce. Specific content includes management theory and models, the context for administrative supervision, the influence of organizational culture, leadership, the value of coaching, and working through conflict. CHOICE TWO Title: Introduction to the Transformative Reconciliation Program Description: Join Dr. Dustin Louie in a robust introduction of the Transformative Reconciliation in Community Social Services program. This unique program was designed to allow participants to engage in transformative reconciliation through collaborative learning, design, and practice. Participants engage in robust learning and dialogue about reconciliation, decolonizing, and Indigenizing. This is an opportunity to learn more and ask questions. | |

| Chronic stress can lead to job-related fatigue and burnout. Discovering how to cope with stress can help prevent work-related fatigue. In this session, we will examine skills to teach your body to return to its baseline by completing the stress cycle. Participants will also learn how to connect their values to how they care for themselves, so they feel more connected with and motivated by their self-care routine.
Over the course of this 60-minute workshop, participants will: Participants will also receive a stress management worksheet where they can create a customized plan that fits with their lives and aligns with their values. | |

| The Ministry of Children and Family Development has sought the voices, stories, and experiences of over 2,500 British Columbians, inclusive of Indigenous Child and Family Service Agencies, community service providers, caregivers, ministry staff and youth and young adults, to understand the current state of youth transitions. The vision moving forward is that every youth transitioning from care into independence has the wraparound supports they need to achieve their full potential. Warren Helfrich will provide an update to the work completed to date and some insight and information about the project’s roadmap. | |
