KAIROS Blanket Exercise
The KAIROS Blanket Exercise (KBE) is an experiential way to think about the ongoing impacts of colonization and to consider each person’s responsibility in moving forward in reconciliation. It is a unique, participatory history lesson–developed in collaboration with Indigenous Elders, knowledge keepers and educators–that fosters truth, understanding, respect and reconciliation among Indigenous and non-indigenous peoples.
The Federation offers the Blanket Exercise as a teaching tool that shares the historic and contemporary relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada in support of ongoing reconciliation. The Federation has a KAIROS Blanket Exercise Trained Facilitator who can act as one of the 2-3 required facilitators for each exercise offering. The Federation can also act as liaison with KAIROS to book Blanket Exercises for any Federation member organizations.
